Drinks anyone? Wayfare Tavern.
Stopped by for a drink and some light appetizers before dinner. This is a very popular spot for…….you didn’t guess it…..fried chicken! We’ll have to try that on another visit.
We started with a selection of lighter wines….a gruner veltliner, a Burgundy and a domestic rose of grenache and mourvedre from California’s Shenandoah Valley…..very tart and dry. To make it more than just about drinks we had Shigokus oysters from the great PNW, deviled eggs……Dungeness crab and avocado in the mix…..and shrimp cocktail.
While we didn’t eat at a table inside, I’m not sure they were on their best game with service. Our food orders were brought quickly but incorrectly to the table and a second round of drinks seemed lost in the bowels of the restaurant….before final arrival.
