Try this place for happy hour or dinner: Frank’s Oyster House.
One of a 2 restaurants owned by the same family this one is a bar and oyster house. Convenient happy hour especially if you work or live near UW. This is one of those places where everything on the menu is excellent.
To call out a few: lobster rolls, deconstructed crab Louie and the oyster sliders. The choice of oysters varies but get 3 each to round out a dozen. In my opinion, cold water oysters are far superior to the Gulf of Mexico variety. The cioppino was also excellent…the tomato based sauce made the dish.
While desserts are limited in number, they are all very good. The chocolate whiskey cake seems like a frequent offering and it’s for every chocoholic out there. But, it must be shared because…it’s huge! Finished off with a nice sauternes since it’s a bit dry going down.
Wine list includes new and old world selections including orange wines. My choice was a very nice example from Slovenia.
