A delightful spot: Remota Patagonia Lodge.
Fortunate to have attended a meeting in this absolutely beautiful part of the world. Puerto Natales is a small place and the number of options therefore somewhat limited but this establishment is worth the stay. It was built to be energy efficient and is of a modern design that blends in nicely with its surroundings. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
While the food was either buffet or from a limited menu, on the whole it was quite good with nods to anything seafood. The meat and corn pie was also especially tasty. The desserts, which were varied, were quite good as well. A special shout out to the bar staff and their ever changing drink of the day. They do a mean pisco sour with multiple variations of that famous concoction.Â
Views from the dining room are floor to ceiling and to die for.
While you’re in the area, check out Last Hope Distillery. It’s the brainchild of a delightful Australian couple….Matt and Kira, who realized there wasn’t a distillery in Patagonia so they just started one…with no prior experience! I learned a lot about gin from them….and how technically easy it is to make and that they make a great one. So, put it on your list for a visit as well.
