I’d been here once before a few years ago and it was time for a second visit: Le Diplomate.
Once again back to a French bistro and this one is my go to place in DC. Beautiful and typical space with excellent service. It’s quite popular so reservations are a must.
Choices for dinner included the salade verte and paté de campagne to start followed by the steak frites and mussels…..classic presentations of both. The highlight of the meal was dessert….profiteroles served with a warm chocolate sauce. Not to be missed if you enjoy chocolate.
The wine list is extensive and mostly French but with new world selections also available.
Next time I will have to experience brunch which is said to be terrific.
