New American Fusion: Kettner Exchange.
It’s a bit hard to find…in a nondescript building on a corner, it’s easy to miss. Walk down the outside hallway and you enter a very interesting space…..modern and classic at the same time. Several floors with niches all around as well as an alfresco experience with a bar.
I made a meal of small plates…..I chose 3 but could have had one of each of the 20 offered. First up was the foie gras toast with boysenberry jam…..outstanding! Next to arrive, the grilled Spanish octopus…very good followed by the duck meatball. A bit about this dish. My interest was peaked by the description…..served with Anson Mill grits. Being from the South, Anson Mills is well know to me as is the national dish of the South….grits. The fried parmesan added a nice touch. Overall, if I had to choose one, I’d go with the foie gras. A delicate and delicious example.
No dessert this night.
