Wandering around Georgetown and needed a quick lunch: Kafe Leopold’s.
Beautiful space near the C&O canal which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner with alfresco dining available. Very nice European style pastry selections and a large bar as well. A busy place with a German focused menu of typical choices.
Pictured with the charcuterie is the sangria special which was an interesting twist on the classic….served with pineapple, orange and cranberry ice cubes and supposedly topped with champagne…..tasted more like white wine to me. The house made sangria was also missing in action as best I could tell. I suspect it had something to do with our waitstaff….see below.
Service was a bit lacking but I don’t think that was a universal problem so give it a try if you find yourself in the area.
