Sushi in the neighborhood: Japonessa Sushi Cocina.

Two Seattle metro locations and while in Bellevue gave that location a spin. We were not disappointed!

Sushi is widely available in Seattle with some well known sushi chefs so it’s not hard to find an opportunity to down excellent raw sea creatures. I usually make my decisions on how good the choices are by trying the same options so as to compare. Seaweed salad…great, Unagi…great, Tobiko with quail egg…great. Spider roll was good but the spicy sauce made it a bit different than my prior experiences. Next time, I’ll skip the spicy sauce. Didn’t give saba a try but I suspect it would have more than met my expectations.

Extensive menu so they’ll likely have what you’re looking for and if it’s not on the menu just ask if the chef can make your favorite. If sitting at the sushi bar buying them a beer is usually met with gratitude. If you can’t make up your mind, go omakase.

Nice open space with a large sushi bar. Helpful staff.
