Pizza on the Peninsula: Hillbottom Pie.
On my way to ride to the top of Hurricane Ridge and I needed some carbo loading. Nice little spot in the historic district just off the main drag through town.
The pizza is Neapolitan style and my choice was the puttanesca which came piled high with anchovies, which I like. The wait staff wanted to make sure I was aware it would be salty….and it was….and perhaps it was too salty. Seemed to distract from the other flavors.
They have a great selection of homemade pies….cherry, marionberry, strawberry rhubarb and pecan the day I visited. My choice was cherry a la mode. The crust (the best part of a pie) was perfect.
Nice space. Friendly waitstaff.
