Great option: Heritage.
While Purple Cafe has been our go to for many years while in Woodinville. But, we are always looking for other options in a town that is covered up with your typical fast food sources. This spot proves a welcome addition.
How best to describe the cuisine? How about PNW?…plenty of seafood as well as those that inhabit land. Choices have included the pear frisée salad…delicious and the dark balsamic fig vinaigrette made the dish. How about steamed clams or trout? The clams stood out in a tomato based broth with house made chorizo sausage. A must have! No wine with dinner…cocktails instead…but the wine offerings reveal PNW choices with a couple of old world wines thrown in for good measure.
Dessert? Key lime pie in a jar downed with a nice glass of botrytized Semillon from Australia. The wine pairing was not quite up to the task with the sweeter dessert. Recommend you go with something like Pedro Ximénez sherry.
It’s quite popular and reservations at the last minute may prove difficult unless you want a table outside. Also open for weekend brunch.
Service was good.
