Quick trip to visit cousins: Harbor View Cafe
Breakfast was as one would expect in the deep south….eggs, bacon and grits…but for some unknown reason I had the Belgian waffle with blueberries. Yes that is Smucker’s syrup in the picture which was fine but set the stage for the overall taste of the dish. It was not the best example I have had. I should have known that, when you are in the South go with what they do well….eggs, grits, pork and biscuits….and what I know I like to have when there. A bit of a surprise though..no biscuits on the menu.
The egg dishes, including omelets, looked very good and I suspect my overall impression would have been better if I had stuck to the tried and true.
