An old favorite for Vietnamese cuisine: Green Leaf.
This place has been a stalwart of Vietnamese food for many years. It’s in a small space in the International District and although they have two other locations, this one is the original and, my favorite.
The selection is broad (Pho to Banh Mi) but my favorite thing to have here is the Bún combo rice noodle (vermicelli) bowl with egg roll, grilled shrimp, chicken and pork…everything goes better with pork…. but the thing that sets this off as the place for Bún, is the fish sauce that goes along with it….outstanding! If you want to go vegetarian, give the Bún Chay a try. The fried and grilled tofu is delicious.
For something a bit different I also recommend the Bánh Xèo or Vietnamese pancake (crepe) with shrimp and pork. You won’t be disappointed.
