Near the Duomo: Cocopazzo.
Recommended by friends…who dined with us this visit. Located east and a moderate walk from the Duomo, it’s in a bit of a less touristy area of central Milan.
Started alfresco but the noise level with a moderately windy night we were driven inside soon after arrival.
The focus is on Tuscan cuisine. I was looking forward to a pizza while in Italy and this was potentially my last opportunity….and a wood fired oven made the choice easy. There are close to a dozen pizza offerings and I went with the Capricciosa…..tomato based with ham, artichokes and anchovies. The anchovies were a bit difficult to spot which was a disappointment. The pizza was good but not outstanding. The best dish..only tasted….was the pasta with mixed seafood which was quite good.
Dessert was panna cotta. Again ok but not outstanding.
Of the dinners we had in Milan this is 3rd on the list behind Osteria di Brera in first and il Cestino in second.
