Dinner for thirty: Seastar
Another group dinner at this well known and highly regarded seafood restaurant in the metro area.
Fixed menu this night with the typical choices…salmon, a chicken dish and beef with a veg option for those so inclined. Went with the salmon which arrived after a classic Caesar salad. Best part of the salad was the nicely done Parmesan anchovy crisp….very tasty.
The salmon was plank roasted and while the fish was very good the side of smoked broccoli missed the mark….didn’t seem smoked or particularly well cooked. Â The best dish was the blood orange panna cotta which was sweet and tart at the same time. I have to admit I am partial to blood oranges and this dish did not disappoint. Everything was washed down with a nice South African Cab.
The space is open, large modern and quite nice.
One caveat….dinners for 30 may not reflect the true nature of a restaurant or a more singular experience.
