An unplanned stop in the Windy City: Andiamo.
Missed my connecting flight to Seattle and got to spend the night at the Hilton O’Hare….oh joy…I’ve had far too many experiences at this hotel. That said, the location can’t be beat….it’s essentially in the airport.
Needed a quick bite after a long day and there are a couple of choices..including the bar which was quite busy that night. As I sat down I remembered my last experience here…very average. It’s supposed to be Italian but hamburgers seemed to be ordered more commonly than fettuccine.
Since I wasn’t very hungry I ordered the charcuterie plate…affettati misti on the menu. It was larger than expected and definitely meant to be shared. The best of the plate was the aged ham. I didn’t quite know what to do with the house made tigelle…..the baguette was a better choice. A so so rosé from Provence was the choice for wine.
Overall this is just another hotel restaurant…nothing special but fits the bill…and maybe I should have had that hamburger.
