A short drive from the ferry terminal: Adrift.
Forgotten we had been here a number of years ago…it hasn’t changed much although they have changed the main dining room to booths. Not sure how this was thought to help since it makes a small space seem even smaller.
We had late lunch this day and it was busy which isn’t unusual for this popular local spot. The menu is far ranging with salads, burgers, etc. but the focus is rightly on seafood. I had the Adrift salad which was a basic green salad with a sesame dressing followed by the Dungeness crab cakes…2 small versions with the highlight…a sweet Thai chili sauce and a mashed potato croquette. The side of kale I could have done without…however, I am not a big fan of kale salad. I couldn’t pass up the dessert…..Lopez Island Creamery chocolate java ice cream pie…wonderful! The wine was a 2016 dry rosé of cab franc from the Yakima Valley.
Service was friendly but quite slow…looked like they were either short staffed or the kitchen was inefficient.
