It’s a tree…It’s a restaurant: Monkeypod Kitchen.
One of 3 locations, this is the newest one on Maui. Located in Whalers Village it’s central to the hotels and condominiums in the area…convenient but very busy. I find it a bit difficult to describe the cuisine…..maybe Hawaiian fusion? We’ve also visited the location in Wailea.Â
We started with the shrimp and mushroom potstickers and the pumpkin patch ravioli. Both were excellent but the potstickers were a tad above the ravioli. Next up was the banh mi burger…..outstanding and the fish tacos. The wine? A txakolina rosé from the Basque area of Spain. If you haven’t tried one from this area, I’d recommend you do so…rosé with a bit of effervescence but not a cava.
No room for dessert.
Service was excellent as are the views of the Pacific.
