Late afternoon lunch after a morning of cross country skiing: Salish Lodge Attic.
Great location and it’s on the way back from the pass which makes it an ideal stop. The food is always excellent and the space, cozy. You can choose from pizzas from the brick oven, soup, mussels, oysters and various sandwiches all of good proportions and expertly presented. Adequate wine selection by the glass, mostly from the PNW, to go with your lunch choice.
This visit we had the olives and spanish almonds as a starter, split the roasted beet salad with feta and candied walnuts and ended with the curry mussels. No room this time for dessert but they looked excellent as well.
Of course, if you want the full course, then the Dining Room downstairs will fill the bill and, if you are running late getting home, spend the night at the lodge!
Interesting fact: the Lodge was featured in the hit TV show Twin Peaks.
Views of the nearby falls are spectacular so don’t miss that opportunity.
